Recommended Plumbing Professional Fee by NAMPAP

Updated: Oct 29

Plumbing, from the design to the implementation, is a basic essential in every dwelling and building occupancy. With the authority granted by the State to the right professional —Registered Master Plumbers— it is our duty to be of service to the people and the construction industry to design efficient and economical water systems inside the buildings and subsequently deliver wastewater outside the building and into the drainage systems. This encompasses all fixtures, septic vaults, rainwater catchment system, water storage tanks, pumps, and other fittings and appurtenances needed to fulfill the needs of our clients and their building requirements as well as meeting the local codes and standards.

Oftentimes a secondary profession, it is sometimes dubbed as the most underrated profession. According to the law, even a High School graduate can apply and take the Professional Examination provided that you have met the minimum number of experience in plumbing.

As a design professional, we should be aware of the services that we can offer and their corresponding compensation. To uplift the profession, NAMPAP have prepared the recommended rates for designing, signing and seal services as a requirement for the plumbing permit in acquiring a building permit from the Office of the Building Official (OBO).

One challenge for the profession is the standardization of professional fees. While it may vary on your location and the complexity of the project, we came up with a tabulated data of how our professional fees came about.

So if you are a newly licensed master plumber or even a long time practicing one who is struggling with naming your professional fee, this article can help you.

For residential projects, the recommended professional fee per fixture is as follows:

The above-mentioned rates are based on the agreed professional fees during the 2022 NAMPAP Mid-year Meeting. However, these rates may vary depending on the location, scale, and complexity of each project. We hope that this information can help each Master Plumber practice and be one in uplifting the profession.
